Matthew A. Passen
Matthew A. Passen joined Passen Law Group in 2008. Mr. Passen concentrates in all areas of personal injury, including motor vehicle and public transportation accidents, brain and spinal cord injury, medical malpractice and wrongful death.
Prior to joining Passen Law Group, Mr. Passen was a litigation associate with Jenner & Block LLP in Chicago.
Mr. Passen received his B.A., magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, in Economics from the University of Michigan in 2002. He played four years of college hockey as a member of the University of Michigan Club Hockey Team.
In 2006, Mr. Passen obtained his law degree, summa cum laude, from DePaul University College of Law, where he graduated Order of the Coif. Mr. Passen was also a member of the DePaul Law Review.
During the 2003-04 academic year, Mr. Passen clerked for the Honorable Ronald A. Guzman, United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He spent the following semester clerking at the United States Attorney's Office, Northern District of Illinois.
Mr. Passen is a member of the Illinois Bar. He is also a member of the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, Illinois State Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the American Association for Justice.
Mr. Passen is currently a Special Projects Coordinator for the Young Lawyers Section of the Chicago Bar Association, and also serves on the Jewish United Fund's Young Lawyers Group Committee. He also volunteers with elementary students in Chicago-area public schools as part of the Constitutional Rights Foundation of Chicago's "Lawyers in the Classroom" program.
Mr. Passen is the author of several articles discussing personal injury law in Illinois. In addition, Mr. Passen authors Passen Law Group's Chicago Personal Injury Blog.
Mr. Passen has completed several triathlons, including an Ironman in 2008.
