An accident occurred at the corner of Lindel Street and Newton Street in the Lakevale subdivision of Vienna, Virginia on the above date and the approximate time. My 2006 Camry operated by my daughter driving on a learners permit and under my instruction collided with a tree when the gas pedal stuck full throttle, totaling my Camry and my neighbor’s mailbox and leaving me initially unconscious and then dazed, and disoriented. The good fortune was that both my daughter and I had our seat belts securely fastened avoiding much more serious injuries. A Fairfax County police responded to a report of the accident and arrived at the scene in about fifteen minutes. The responding officer asked if an ambulance needed to be called and I said that after checking with my daughter that I didn’t think so although in retrospect I think that I should have been taken to the hospital for a checkup. In the weeks that followed I found that I had difficulty focusing on my work as a Telecommunications Specialist for the Navy and as a consequence my relations with office staff were strained to the point that I requested a transfer to another position. I was put on leave for a short period of time and then laid off. I have been unemployed since then.
I would be happy to discuss whether or not you may have a viable cause of action arising out of this accident. Feel free to call our office at (312) 527-4500 for a free consultation. Because our office typically only handles cases involving permanent injury or death, we may not be able to help you. However, even if someone in our office cannot help you, we would be happy to answer your questions and point you in the right direction.
